研究方向：肾脏病理、肾移植肾病理以及肾脏病临床、病理和发病机制的研究，人工智能在肾脏病理中应用。

1）肾脏疾病发病机制、临床病理表现和治疗：IgA肾病是最常见原发性肾小球肾炎，临床病理复杂多样，对预后的影响也不同，发病机制也没有完全阐述清楚。深入研究IgAN的发病机制，临床病理对预后的影响，寻找治疗方法，改善预后，延缓进入终末期肾衰。近年致力于中国人群IgA肾病牛津分类研究工作，建立南京IgA肾病危险分层系统，同步开展IgA肾病多中心前瞻性观察性队列研究，通过疾病模型验证ESKD风险，并开展人工智能学习模型在肾脏病理中的应用。狼疮性肾炎和糖尿病是我国较常见的继发性肾脏疾病，对其临床特点，发病机制的研究，治疗方法的探讨将有助于提高这类疾病的预后。

2）浆细胞增生性疾病肾损害：浆细胞增生性疾病的发生率逐年上升，异常增生的浆细胞产生的免疫球蛋白、重链、轻链在肾脏组织内沉积，引起多发性骨髓瘤、具有肾脏意义的单克隆免疫球蛋白病等疾病，治疗棘手，预后不佳，对其损伤机制的研究，临床病理特点的总结，寻找治疗方法，改善预后意义重大。已发表关于中国人群轻链沉积病、重链沉积病、轻链近端肾小管病、冷球蛋白血症、增生性肾小球肾炎伴单克隆IgG沉积等系列论文。

3）足细胞相关性疾病：足细胞是肾小球滤过屏障的重要组成成分。足细胞作为终末分化细胞，在免疫性损伤、感染、药物、毒物、代谢因素及血流动力学异常等作用下均可出现损伤，其功能障碍和丢失是促使肾小球硬化发生、肾脏疾病进展的关键环节。然而足细胞在足细胞相关性疾病中如FSGS、微小病变，膜性肾病等的损伤机制研究虽然取得了一些进展，但远未阐述清晰，导致其治疗未取得突破性进展。因此对足细胞及其损伤机制研究将有助于加深对肾脏疾病的认识，为临床治疗提供新靶点。
